Television - The Most Favorite Tool For Leisure

All of us have a way of spending time. Sometimes playing basketball, reading books and do all sorts of wild stuff. Some also play billiards, listen to music or even just chat with friends. But the most favorite tool that we often use for leisure is of course, the television. Here, we can spend hours sitting on the couch and watching different kinds of movies without even noticing the time. DVD's, VCD's, Video Games or even just plain TV shows. There is not a house in a neighborhood without a television except for those who really cannot afford to buy one.

Children love to watch cartoon shows in the television. Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel are some of the most popular networks on the television that promote cartoons. The majority of teenagers, in the other hand, prefer movies rather than cartoons. There are also different types of movies like comedy, action, suspense, horror, or even romance but they often choose horror, action or comedy to keep their adrenaline pumping.

Our parents sometimes are the "kill-joys" when it comes to television network. Oftentimes, even though you are watching your most favorite TV show, they awkwardly change the channel to their favorite network, the news, which all of us hate watching. The news is not that bad though, but we just find it boring watching all the things that happened in the day. Bank robbery, crimes, murders, theft, insurance news, animal news, all sorts of news that make our head ache. Sometimes we wonder why our parents love watching those kinds of networks.

Well, we all have knowledge on how to use a television. It is certainly a "no brainer". But not all of us has the knowledge on how it was made, who made it, when and where was it done. According to studies, the television was inspired from an 1884 invention called a "scanning disk". In 1921, a 14-year old Mormon discovered that electron beams have the capacity to scan images through horizontal lines, reproducing the picture almost spontaneously. This led to the invention of the very first television.

Actually, it is not very important to know the whereabouts of the television. As long as we know how to operate it, use it for different purposes that would help us relax and enjoy. The television is not only a tool for entertainment but also the instrument that bonds the family. Sometimes, because of too much work, the parents have no time to spend some time with their children. Same as the children with their home works and different school activities. Sometimes, the television acts as an auxiliary to gather the family together, choose the best movie, sit down, and enjoy a good show. We never realize how a television means unless we lose it.
